Darcy and Joanna Nobriga run their cattle operation, Double D Ranch, in Laupahoehoe, Hawaii. The cattle at Double D Ranch are Certified Animal Welfare Approved by A Greener World (AGW) and Certified Grassfed by AGW, the first—and only—food label in North America that guarantees food products come from animals fed a 100 percent grass and forage diet, and raised entirely outdoors on pasture or range.

The herd of Brangus and Angus Composite cattle graze in harmony with the land using rotational grazingtechniques and are given the lowest stress environment as possible. Raising animals on pasture in this way has known benefits for the animals and the land.

North Shore Livestock Ranch is located in Kahuku and owned by the Pontin family. Their Herford-Angus cattle have genetics from the original cattle first brought to Hawaii in the late 1800’s. They use multi-paddock holistic grazing methods that improve the carbon carrying capacity of the soil and mitigate greenhouse gases.

North Shore Livestock Cattle are never fed additional feed and eat only the fresh growing grass and forage from the land. They are free of antibiotics, hormones, and steroids and are handled using low stress techniques.

Wild Venison
Maui Nui

Maui Nui Venison is the only truly wild USDA certified venison in the country. Please take the time to watch this video and understand the importance of consuming Hawaiian Axis Deer in order to improve the environment and reduce the population numbers which have devestated the forests and oceans.

Pork
Mountain View Farms, Wai'anae

Mountain View Farms is located in Wai’anae Valley and owned by David Wong, a third generation farmer. His Korean farming techniques focus on microbiome and inoculation with probiotics and prebiotics, creating a healthy environment for his pigs. They are raised in large pens using a “deep litter” system that creates a living floor where the animals can express their natural behavior to dig and root, therefore significantly reducing the stress on the animals.

David raises 10 acres of the superfood Moringa, which is fed to the animals daily, along with spent beer grain (non-gmo barley) and expired produce. Food waste is one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases, and by converting food waste into high quality protein, Mountain View Farms actively reduces greenhouse gases while providing delicious local meat for our community. The animals are never given antibiotics, hormones, steroids, or vaccines and have exceptional health compared to conventionally raised pigs. David attributes this to the significant importance he puts on their microbiome and environment.

Wild Boar
Hawaiian Hogs, Pu'ukapu, Kamuela

Llody Case raises pigs and traps wild hogs at his farm in Waimea. Through a collaboration with Kulana Foods in Hilo, he is able to USDA certify and market local wild pigs "boar." Lloyd's feral pig harvest is one of the only programs of its kind in the state that helps utilize this wild invasive species.
