Our food truck used to wow customer's with this delicious venison recipe used in tacos and arepas. You can substitute any red meat in the recipe with the same stellar results. Pairs well with salsa verde or green chili. 

Beer Braised Maui Venison (tacos, burritos, arepas...) 

1 pound cubed venison stew meat or sliced venison (cut into bite size pieces)

2 Tablespoons fat/oil

1 medium sweet onion diced

1 jalapeno diced (seeds and veins removed)

3 cloves garlic, mashed

1 can local beer 

1 teaspoon beef stock paste (optional)

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 

1 Tablespoon soy sauce


Chili Powder Blend:

1 Tablespoon chili Powder

2 teaspoons cumin powder

1/2 Tablespoon garlic Powder

1/2 Tablespoon onion Powder

1 teaspoon oregano

1/2 teaspoon cayenne 

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoons salt



Directions: Heat oil/fat in saucepan or dutch oven over medium high heat. Sear meat until browned. Add remaining ingredients and chili powder blend. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 2 hours or until meat is tender. Add salt to taste. Goes great with any Mexican inspired dish. Enjoy!
