Ingredients:
1lb ground beef
1 egg
1/4 cup panko, bread crumbs, or equivalent
1/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
dash Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic mashed
2 teaspoons dijon mustard or horseradish
1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 cups bone broth
3 Tablespoons flour or equivalent thickener
This affordable comfort food is simple, quick, and delicious. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice, and veggies.
Hamburger Steak with Bone Broth Gravy
Directions: Mix all ingredients together except bone broth, flour, and onions. Make thin patties out of ground beef mixture and sear over medium high heat in a cast iron skillet. Once patties are lightly browned on either side remove from pan and place aside. Add onions to pan and sear for about 2 minutes. Add bone broth to pan and heat to a simmer. Sift in flour while whisking bone broth to thicken. Add patties back to pan and add salt to taste. You can also add a dash of shoyu or vinegar for added flavor.
